About Dr. Woods
Dr. Woods started with a science and health foundation, earning a degree in biology from San Francisco State University and a nursing degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1975, before going on to complete his dental degree there in 1983. He joined Garden City Dental Center and, after more than 20 years treating patients here, became the practice's owner. Along the way he also served his country, first in the U.S. Army Reserve's Nurse Corps and later in its Dental Corps, and spent a decade as a civilian dental contractor caring for service members at the USAF Air National Guard's 165th in Savannah.
- Earned his dental degree from a well-regarded Georgia dental school, so his training started on solid, trusted ground.
- Completed hundreds of hours of continuing education beyond dental school to earn a Fellowship, proof he takes staying current seriously.
- Trained an extra year past dental school in a hospital-based residency with the U.S. Army, so complex cases are handled with confidence, not just routine cleanings.
- Spent a decade providing dental care to Georgia's citizen airmen, real-world experience treating a wide range of patients and needs.
